Rotate PDF pages
Turn all pages, or only the ones you pick, and save.
Files never leave your device
How to Rotate PDF
- Press Choose a PDF, or drop your file on the box above.
- To turn every page, use Left, Right or Upside down next to Turn all pages.
- To turn single pages, tap them: each tap turns a page a quarter turn to the right.
- Press Save rotated PDF, then Download.
Turning all pages or just some
The small pictures of your pages show how each one will look. The Left and Right buttons turn every page a quarter turn, and Upside down turns every page half a turn. Tapping a single page turns only that page, a quarter turn to the right each time, so four taps bring it back to where it started.
You can mix both. For a scan where every page came out upside down except one, press Upside down, then tap the odd page twice to set it right again.
Right means clockwise, the way a clock’s hands move, and Left means the other way. A page lying on its left side needs Right; one lying on its right side needs Left. If you pick the wrong one, press the other button twice, or Upside down once.
Only the first 60 pages are shown as small pictures. The Turn all pages buttons still turn every page, including those after page 60, but a single page after 60 can’t be tapped here.
Saved for good, with nothing lost
Turning a page in a PDF reader often changes only your view, and the file opens sideways again next time or on someone else’s screen. Here the new direction is saved in the file, so it opens the right way up in any reader, on any device.
The tool changes each page’s rotation setting; it does not redraw the page. Text stays sharp and can still be selected and searched, pictures keep their quality, and the file stays about the same size. The work is done on your device and the PDF is not uploaded. You get a new file named with “-rotated”; your original is not changed.
Common problems
- You see “Turn a page first” after pressing Save: no page has been turned yet, or every turned page is back where it started.
- A page after page 60 needs turning on its own: in Split PDF, choose Every few pages with 60 pages in each file. Rotate the part that holds the page, then join all the parts again, in order, with Merge PDF.
- The page is the right way up but has wide white edges: rotating does not trim pages. Use Crop PDF for that.
- The PDF has a password or limits set by its owner: remove them first with Unlock PDF and the right password.
- The PDF is digitally signed: tick the box that appears to go ahead. Rotating changes the file, so the signature will show as invalid.
Everything happens in your browser: your file is never uploaded to any server. You can check: once your file is open, turn on airplane mode — the tool still works.
Questions
How do I rotate only one page of a PDF?
Tap that page’s picture. Each tap turns it a quarter turn to the right; tap three times to turn it a quarter to the left. The other pages stay as they are.
Will the rotation stay when I send the file?
Yes. The new direction is saved in the downloaded PDF, so it opens the same way for everyone.
Does rotating a PDF lower its quality?
No. Only the page’s direction changes. The text, pictures and size stay as they were.
Why did my scanned PDF come out sideways?
Scanners and phone cameras sometimes save a page in the wrong direction. Turning it here fixes the file itself, not just your view of it.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Rotate PDF runs in your browser on your own device. The file is never sent to our server or anyone else. Once your file is open you can even turn on airplane mode.
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up, no limits on how many files, and no watermark is added to your file.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows or Linux. Very large files work best on a computer, because a phone browser has less memory.
